Domestic AbuseDomestic abuse has long been seen as an issue for women that does not affect men
Current statistics however show that this is not the case - in Scotland 1 in every 5 calls to the police about domestic abuse features a male victim and a female perpetrator. As with sexual abuse the true figure is likely to be much higher Domestic abuse can affect men differently from women due to public perceptions and stereotypical viewpoints around masculinity. There is also very little support available for men who have experienced or are experiencing domestic abuse but we hope to change that |
