Volunteering

Thinking about becoming a volunteer?

There are lots of advantages in volunteering with a charity and with The Gap in particular

We are a very small organisation and so we really do need the help of volunteers to deliver our service

You don't need to have any special skills or qualifications. We provide all the necessary training and we can sometimes cover travel costs as well

Read on to find out more about volunteering with us or go straight to our contact us page and get in touch

Helping Others

The biggest benefit to becoming a volunteer with us is that you will be helping to support a much needed service and the people that use it

Services for male survivors in particular are hugely lacking in the UK. Being able to talk to someone can be hugely beneficial to a survivor

Making Friends

Volunteering is a fantastic way to meet new people and have fun. Many of our volunteers go on to become great friends and there is always time for a cuppa and a blether in our offices, as well as the chance to participate in various social functions

Boosting Your CV and Skills

Volunteering looks great on any CV and we are always working to increase the skills of anyone that volunteers with us

As well as learning about abuse, prevention, support and more through training you will also be enabled to learn - admin, IT, team work, promotional and fundraising skills and techniques

What Our Volunteers Do

The work of our volunteers can be quite varied depending upon what projects may be running. However we are always on the look out for people to give support, cover the phones, assist with fundraising and promote the service
